At Yade, we like to talk to you about our commitments: respect for the environment, entrepreneurship and even feminism, a principle that seems obvious to us ❤️
On the occasion of Women's History Month, we have chosen to highlight two inspiring women, rarely mentioned in writing, but who nonetheless remain emblematic figures of this movement! 💪🏼
Olympe de Gouges: the 18th-century feminist icon 👩🏻🦳
She used to frequent salons and meet men of letters. Passionate about theater, she wrote committed plays such as L'esclavage des noirs and Le Mariageimprévu de Chérubin , with the aim of raising awareness among individuals about the cause of black men and women 🙌🏼
In 1791, she published the Declaration of the Rights of Woman and of the Female Citizen, a text that demanded equality between men and women, legally, politically, and socially. On November 3, 1793, her last words were "Children of the Fatherland, you will avenge my death!" before being guillotined.

Niki de Saint Phalle: sniper... or almost! 👌🏼
It was in the 1960s that Niki de Saint-Phalle became recognized as an artist thanks to her Tirs , performances which consisted of exploding pockets of paint using a rifle. 🔫
Her works reflect her feminist commitment. We can take the example of the Nanas , these polyester sculptures which represent women's bodies with very generous curves. It was only at the age of 64 that she revealed that she had been a victim of incest, in her book " My Secret ", and her works then take on their full meaning. 👀

And you, which women inspire you? 🥰
